Superintendent of Schools

We are seeking a highly qualified, dynamic leader to fill the position of
SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
Position Available July 1, 2019

The Nanuet Union Free School District is committed to the personal development of each student so that upon graduation, they are prepared and inspired to apply learning in a changing, complex and interdependent world. Nanuet is located in the Town of Clarkstown, midway between Manhattan and Bear Mountain. The school district currently serves a population of approximately 2,200 students.

The candidate we seek shall possess the following attributes:

? Command of New York State Education Standards and Education Law
? Proven ability to implement a positive vision for the future success of all students, faculty and staff
? A strong foundation in K-12 Curriculum
? Be approachable, highly visible and willing to make a commitment and investment in the community
? Motivator who will support and empower educators to creatively engage in problem solving, progressive
improvement, and visionary thinking
? Excellent oral and written communication skills
? Highly knowledgeable of data, reporting and analytics systems and tools
? Experience with digital technology, social media and their impact on public education
? Skilled and knowledgeable in sound fiscal practices


Qualifications: Must possess or be eligible for New York State certification as a
School District Administrator (SDA) or a School District Leader (SDL).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
